As we leave Texas and enter the Land Of Enchantment. Setting our clocks to moutain time our bodies have trouble making the change. Todays scenery was full of desert dried weeds, brown straw that replace grass, rocks, sand, pebbles and lots of prickley pears catcus. ( I rememebering dating a prick he was a creep. That is another story.) Somehow in this vast land of nothing you do find an Oais. Large home surrounded by emearld green lawns huge shade trees, you might think you are in Ireland or is it a mirage. We arrived at Town and Country RV park here in Roswell, about two'ish. Made us some tuna sandwiches and watched TV. Took a short walk to a stop in shop for a bag of ice, and ice cream sandwich for dessert. We did exercise!! We only have a 3 to 4 hour drive tomorrow.
Maureen called us last night to tell us that Cody hit a hard solid homerun. As he crossed homeplate he had a grin from ear to ear. He was the team hero for the game. Ryan has been accepted to the junior national honor society. He has decided to cut his hair. He has thick wavy hair like his mom. Being a granny I needed to do some bragging.
We are having fun with punch dub you know when you see a VW Beetle.
Just a short chat tonight, The Good Wife is coming on gotta watch it.
Be safe and XOXO to all

Texas in my rear view mirror
I'm back. Hope you guys have not forgotten me. It has been a long time since my last post. Let's just say Juju had writters block.
Harry and I are finally on the road. First stop Boerne, we plan to spend time with our baby girl. Lisa now lives in San Antonio so we have a lot to catch up. Our favorite thing SHOPPING and do we shop. This weekend is Fiesta San Antonio, lots of music, river float parade, food, drinks, and wall to wall people. FUN FUN. There is a Mexican resturant that we enjoy dinning at, they have good salsa and margaritas. They also have a great bakery just about any type of sweets you could want.
Did I mention that Lisa has moved and now has a third floor apartment. Not to worry I have a new knee. It keeps going and going, and going I just wish I could.Yep what we do for our children. Gonna miss you Lisa Pooh!!!!!!!
Sunday we visited Hill Country Christian Church. They had a guest speaker an added bonus to our visit, with a covered dish dinner after the service. The best Happy Hour.
Being Monday morning it was time to move on. Next stop will be Fort Stockton TX. We did have nice driving weather. Some what cool and not having to turn AC on, saving diesel is a big plus. As we drove the highway the Texas wild flowers were abundant, Bluebonnets, Indain paint brush, yellow and white daisies. Such a spectacular sight, and as a native Texan we look forward to the spring flowers. If you get a chance take a ride to admire nature at it's best.
I chose to cook supper the RV park has a cafe but I didn't feel like going out. Besides home cooking is always better and I am a great cook. Harry can take me to breakfast in the morning. Wow I sound boring. So I guess it is time for me say so long.
Be safe and I shall chat later

4 3 2 1 Lift Off
Harry and I have returned from a two week vacation. We drove to Orlando Fl. We wanted to see the launch of the space shuttle, even better it was a night launch. Ladies and Gentlemen AWESOME. You must put this on your to do list. Nasa has four schedule launch for this year. The faith of the space program are in fragile hands. The current administration has cut funds to the program. Some seven to eight thousand jobs will be lost. I suppose not enough people are out of work, hungry, homeless, etc. The launch was schedule for lift off 4:34 A. M. Sunday morning Feb. 7th 2010. However, the weather plays a huge factor for a successful launch. With only 15 mintues till lift off the mission was scrubbed. A disappointing sigh, our heads hanging down we slowly existed the grounds. We had braved the elements of mother nature four bitter cold hours. Temp. was a freezing 34. Heading back to the motel, an hour drive we choose a light breakfast before getting some shut eye. We sleep about 7 hours in between phone calls, people who had not watched the news. Wanting to know about the launch. The maid not able to read a DO NOT DISTURB sign.
Anyway after the game it was time to head back to Kennedy Space Center for another try. This time the weather was perfect "O." We had VIP viewing only six miles from the launch pad. You are able to hear all comminacations between NASA in Houston, Astronaunts on board the shuttle, and the Kennedy Space Center. The process is of course lenghty but you are kept in the loop of all instructions. As the count down began all eyes foccus on the shuttle which is illuminated with massive flood lights. With the shuttle perched high on the launch pad all systems go. The dark sky changed to the brightess light you will ever see. The shuttle disapeared into space leaving a lighted vapor trail. My friends, I wittnessed this awesome sight but can not justify in writting the spectaclaur sight. How fortunate growing up in the space age. I remember when in school how we would assemble in the school auditorium to watch the flights.
While at the KSC we toured the complex. You get to ride a comfy a.c. bus. to the Launch 39 observation gantry. A 360 view of the launch pads and the crawlweway and the vehicle assembly building.
Your next stop Apollo/Saturn V Center. Which features a 363-foot moon rocket. The third stop the international space station center, you'll get a closer look at huge projects as they are prepared for flights. Some of the exhibits is a new shuttle launch experience. Get vertical. Strap in for sights, sounds and excitement of a space launch. A full day of adventure I do suggest you take two, many exhibits, space station 3D, and IMAX. We were able to get an autograph T-shirt signed by astronaut Al Worden who flew apollo 15. Thats all for now.
Love and XOXOXOXO

The food is always fresh and always homemade. Then we're off to Galveston Island to see our grandson Cody plays basketball. The local churches have a program called upward basketball. All children are invited to play. Very popular winter sport for the young boys and girls. The teams are coed and the girl on Cody team AWESOME this girl can play. Glad we have her on our side. The team won today 14 to 6. Looking forward to next Saturdays game.
Changing to football, rushing home to watch dem saints. Yep friends I hoping them Saints will make their Super Bowl debut. My Uncle and cousin were true die hard fans. I know they will root the team to victory on that endless flat screen in Heaven. Oh when dem saints go marching in who dat say da beat dem saints.
My dad, my best friend in Oregon, and many more acquaintance are Cowboy fans. So how interesting the play offs will be this weekend.

BABY ITS COLD OUTSIDE
Brrrrr I am waiting for the artic blast. Big news for the weather people. I do get a chuckle listening to them. It seems they are unable to give straight answer. Such as we may see precipitation. High winds could get very high at times. A chance your pipes may freeze. Streets may be icy and traffic lights may not work. If you do not need to be out stay at home. The media must think Americans are stupid. I do remember my schooling, 32 degrees and below is freezing. WOW it must be rocket sceince.
Speaking of rocket sceince we are going to try and see the space shuttle launch Feb. 7th. The shuttle is due to launch 4:00 a.m. Our daughters have witness seeing the launch and the shuttle being piggy back to Fl. This will be great to have a front row seat to history. We will have to rely on the weather men to predict clear skys and prefect conditions. Hmmm we will see.
Since selling our home my young sister Connie has choosen on the task of keeping the family tradition christmas eve party. I have sereval sisters, a brother many nieces and nephews. A large family. We have decided to make a craft gift to exchange. The gift should be home made. The cost not over $10.00 dollars. A gift you would want. My family is very talented. Over the years we have made, cookbooks with recipe that are generations old. Home made vidoes of many special occasions. Updated address books, with birthdays and annv. dates. Jams, jellies pies, cookies. The young children are really getting in to this fun project. Cody, Ryan, Drake, Shelby, and Austin truly look forward to making a gift. I am always amazed at how well they do. Lots of fun.
The wind is beginning to get stronger and I see some sprinkles of something. LOL
I need to get off my lovly tush and get busy with my chores.
Stay warm and be safe. XXXOOOO

A new year, a new decade, the circle of life. I can not complain 2009 was a great year for Harry and I. We toured 13 states in seven months. Along the way visited old and new friends and family. Maureen and the grand boys were able to join us in Washington. Seeing the northwest was just awesome. The beauty of Gods creation is a memory of pages that will be pressed in my mind to only sit back and reflect.
December is a busy month for many and my family is no exception. We have several birthdays including mine, holiday parties, church dinners, shopping, and Harry and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary on Dec 30th. We had such big plans dancing, dinning, an evening of romance. However, plans were spoiled due to the flu. We sat in our pj,s wraped in a blanket coughing sneezing, running nose and eyes. We were pathetic, as we petered out promises were made to have a do over. We shall put on our Sunday best, go to that favorite restaurant, doing some belly rubbing and then YOU KNOW. After all 40 years is to be celebrated.
We did manage to go to South Toledo Bend State Park for the new year. Meeting up with a few of our camping buddies. This was a first time visit to this park. The park design is ideal for short time camping. (no sewer hook up) many sites have a lake front view, and serval sites have a large wood deck. Very nice to have cook outs, there was 10 of us and we ate and ate. We cooked about seven pounds of bacon three mornings along with sausage gravy, biscuts, toast, beignets, bloody marys, screwdrivers, mimsoa. You have to have something to wash down such rich foods. You get the idea we can put on a spread. Then there is the fire pits we enjoy bonfires. With a few drinks and an imagination the stories are always larger than life. We can solve any world problem, be it political, financial, fashion, we are a group full of deep Bulls*#$!.
Headed back to Dickinson in time to watch the Texans game. What in the world is Chris Brown doing. I had foot surgery and I can kick better then him. Hmm thats an idea. Well the victory was short lived due to Baltimore and New York Jets win. I have said this many times there is always next year.
We are due for some bitter cold this week. I suppose I will need to keep Hartley warm. Throw our lamb skin rug [ Harry like rug burns] in front of the fireplace to keep cozy.
Happy New Year to all. May the Peace of Christ be with you each day.
Be safe Juju

Good morning to all. I had a great week and I would like to share with all.
I had my grandsons over Sat. The boys are always hungry so we had to make a pit stop to Subway. The boys and Harry each got a 12 inch sandwich and to my surprise Cody ate the whole thing. After lunch, the boys help put some Christmas decoration in and out of the RV. My grandchildren know how to get granny in the holiday spirit. Saturday we were blessed with sunshine ( the sun has been absent for serval days} the air was crisps just a great day to be outside. Taking advantage of a perfect day Harry smoked a brisket for Sunday dinner. As well as a steak for dinner, I can not keep the boys tummy full. He also made us a nice warm and cozy fire to sit and enjoy. The wind begin to pick up so the fire was short lived. Not to worry we just went inside and with a push of a button wa la we had fire. [fireplace] we snuggled around the TV to watch the New Orleans Saints, and the Dallas Cowboys. That too was short lived the Cowboys beat the Saints 24 to 17. I was so rooting for the Saints.
I know they have a play off spot. I really was hoping for a perfect season.
Sunday we had dinner at my sisters house and our Aunts came for a visit. Aunt Carol and Aunt Betty are my dad sisters. We do not get to see them often so this makes the visit very very special. I do have a large family and it always a treat for us to be together. We had several hours to catch up with one another and good food, wine, and the Texans won there game. Life is good.
Have a busy week ahead, need to get baking finish and roasting {Harry} chestnuts.
Enjoy today with all the hustle and bustle of the seasons we can forget the true meaning of Christmas.
