A new year, a new decade, the circle of life.  I can not complain 2009 was a great year for Harry and I.  We toured 13 states in seven months.  Along the way visited old and new friends and  family.  Maureen and the grand boys were able to join us in Washington.  Seeing the northwest was just awesome. The beauty of Gods creation is a memory of pages that will be pressed in my mind to only sit back and reflect.
December  is a busy month for many and my family is no exception. We have several birthdays including mine, holiday parties, church dinners, shopping, and Harry and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary on Dec 30th.  We had such big plans dancing, dinning, an evening of romance.  However, plans were spoiled due to the flu.  We sat in our pj,s wraped in a blanket coughing sneezing, running nose and eyes.  We were pathetic, as we petered out promises were made to have a do over.  We shall put on our Sunday best, go to that favorite restaurant, doing some belly rubbing and then YOU KNOW.  After all 40 years is to be celebrated.

We did manage to go to  South Toledo Bend State Park for the new year.   Meeting up with a few of our camping buddies. This was a first time visit to this park.  The park design is ideal for short time camping.  (no sewer hook up) many sites have a lake front view, and serval sites have a large wood deck. Very nice to have cook outs,  there was 10 of us and we ate and ate. We cooked about seven pounds of bacon three mornings along with sausage gravy, biscuts, toast, beignets, bloody marys,  screwdrivers,  mimsoa.  You have to have something to wash down such rich foods. You get the idea we can put on a spread.   Then there is the fire pits we enjoy bonfires. With a few drinks and an imagination the stories are always  larger than life.  We can solve any world problem, be it political, financial,  fashion, we are a group full of deep Bulls*#$!.
Headed back to Dickinson in time to watch the Texans game. What in the world is Chris Brown doing.  I had foot surgery and I can kick better then him.  Hmm  thats an idea. Well the victory was short lived due to Baltimore and New York Jets win. I have said this many times there is always next year.
We are due for some bitter cold this week. I suppose I will need to keep Hartley warm.  Throw our lamb skin rug  [ Harry like rug burns] in front of the fireplace to keep cozy.
Happy New Year to all.  May the Peace of Christ be with you each day.

Good morning to all. I had a great week and I would like to share with all.
I had my grandsons over Sat. The boys are always hungry so we had to make a pit stop to Subway. The boys and Harry each got a 12 inch sandwich and to my surprise Cody ate the whole thing. After lunch, the boys help put some Christmas decoration in and out of the RV. My grandchildren know how to get granny in the holiday spirit. Saturday we were blessed with sunshine ( the sun has been absent for serval days} the air was crisps just a great day to be outside. Taking advantage of a perfect day Harry smoked a brisket for Sunday dinner. As well as a steak for dinner, I can not keep the boys tummy full. He also made us a nice warm and cozy fire to sit and enjoy. The wind begin to pick up so the fire was short lived. Not to worry we just went inside and with a push of a button wa la we had fire. [fireplace] we snuggled around the TV to watch the New Orleans Saints, and the Dallas Cowboys. That too was short lived the Cowboys beat the Saints 24 to 17. I was so rooting for the Saints.
I know they have a play off spot. I really was hoping for a perfect season.
Sunday we had dinner at my sisters house and our Aunts came for a visit. Aunt Carol and Aunt Betty are my dad sisters. We do not get to see them often so this makes the visit very very special. I do have a large family and it always a treat for us to be together. We had several hours to catch up with one another and good food, wine, and the Texans won there game. Life is good.
Have a busy week ahead, need to get baking finish and roasting {Harry} chestnuts.
Enjoy today with all the hustle and bustle of the seasons we can forget the true meaning of Christmas.

I do applogize for my absent. I truly have no excuse. I have been lazy and playing on Facebook. I know a day without Juju is like a day without sun.
I guess I will need to work backwards to catch up. Tuesday was my Birthday I am @#$&#. My day was great I received many Birthday wishes. My grandson treated me to a Christmas Chior program. I so enjoy going to my grandsons school, sports, events. Last night we went to dinner with our friends at a local resturant (Gus's)the best place for Happy Hour and Steaks. Yummy. I do believe that Harry and I have gotten to eat at all our favorite places, since being home. Although we do not have many choices in the Galveston County area. You need to head to Clear Lake, Nasa area. However you do need to pack a lunch cause the wait is always FOREVER!!!!
This past weekend Dec. 11-13. we were in Rayford Crossing RV Park. It was our annual Christmas rally with the Texas Boomer group. I believe we had 36 rigs at the park. Which means we had friends across Texas to play with. Such a treat to be with our friends. Many we only get to see once a year. You know how large Texas is. We all had a great time being with old friends and a few new boomers. As always plenty of food, drinks, camp fires, and fellowship. A perfect weekend. Looking forward to our next rally. Of course the old saying is what happens with the boomers should stay with the boomers. However I never signed that disclaimer. We had the miseltoe man, walking around to get his holiday kiss. Then we had our gift exchange, we do have clever people with some bizarre imagination. Our group is such fun you just never know what will happen.
I am a Texan fan. Harry and I have been able to go to 3 home games at Reliant staduim. I love going to the games, BUT some people are just rude. I wonder why they are at the game. The same people up and down going to get beer than to the bathroomm. They will block the asile. You just can't see around them and of course you have the football guru sitting behind us who knows it all. The Texans kicked booty. The Seattle Seahawks went back west with thier head in shame.
This Sat. shall be a good game the New Orleans Saints will play the Dallas Cowboys. I am also a huge Saints fan. So who dat who dat gonna beat dem saints.
I have been released from the doctor. My foot has heeled very well. He would like for me to wear shoes. So I was cool with that went shoe shopping got a new pair of boots and casual walking shoes. Poor Harry just shakes his head. After all I do have the doctor RX. hehehe!!!
Well my friends I must get busy, need to go SHOPPING!!!! My favorite 8 letter word.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

Texas

Howdy Yawl!!Know that is a Texas greeting. Yes us Texan have our ways of speaking, such as fix n to take a bath, or fixin to makes dinner, or takes a nap. Ya'll come back now you hear. We also have great food. We smoke meat here slow and long. Nothing better than a smoked brisket with a nice crisp crunchy crust, not burned mind you but crispy. All the fixins to go with it. Potatoe salad, cole slaw, baked beans, sliced onions, pickles, and jalapenos. Too further wet your appetite let's talk CHICKEN FRIED STEAK now that's a Texas legends. A piece of cube steak battered and deep fried than smothered with cream gravy with a side of smashed taters and corn, and homemade rolls. Now that's good eatins. We are also proud of our Tex Mex food having a close friend who is a American born Mexican has shared with me her homemade enchilada's and chili gravy yummy. Then we have the Gulf of Mexico, abundance of seafood, oysters, crabs, shrimps, fish. Having roots from the great melting pot, I have a diversity in many cuisine there is Cajun, French, Italian, Irish, German, and Indian. My all time favorite is my grandmothers hot water cornbread. A fried piece of cornbread goes great with Irish stew or vegetable soup.
As Texan we love our beaches and water sports. Beach volleyball, surfing and sunbathing.
When the suns begins to fade we have long strolls walking barefoot on the sandy beach, letting the warm tide rush your feet. Our night life, none better we have the Texas Two Step, The Cotton Eyed Joe, and our famous Waltz across Texas. Beverages of choice good beer and good bourbon. Then we have lots of great wines. Drive through Texas vineyards down around Fredricksberg area. Many tasting rooms that will surprise your taste buds. Lots of antiques shops, and many bed and breakfast.
Our men folk still open doors for the ladies, a strong handshake is a mans greeting and most important a gentleman's agreement. Most Texan men do wear ten gallon hats or a baseball cap with their favorite sports team. Daily wear is a nice fitting pair of jeans, evening comes and off with the jeans and dress shirts and pants. Cowboy boots are always appropriate attire. Ladies well we do make a fashion statement. We have manicures, pedicure for beach, city, country, casual, evening, apparel. Our everyday appearance is like a daily spa treatment. We always look our best. Being women that's what we do best.
Well today being Sunday, means Football Texans have a bye week, I will be rooting for the them Nawlin Saints. Hmm what a fun place the crescent city. Now there is some history I might just have too renew my inner french Cajun roots. I see a road trip in my future.
Till next time yawl. Be sweet and safe. Come visit this itty bitty piss ant town.
Yall come back now yous here.

Hello again

Howdy to all. I know it has been a while. Been very busy with my grandboys. Ryan plays football on Tues evenings, and Cody plays soccer on Mon and Wed evening. We are making trips to Galveston 3 times a week. Hey my boys are so worth it. I do love being a granny.
Harry and I are have moved to spot 76, this site is back on the bay. We have a small backyard and just more outdoor room. We are able to sit and fish and through out a crab trap. Hoping to catch enough for fish fry and crab boil. Yummy Yummy. We have some friends a couple of spaces down from us. We sat out the other night had a fire and a few drinks. Great to catch up with them. They have just sold their house and now doing the RV thing. Nick has recently retired from BP. More fun friends to play.
Well I had my foot surgery Thursday Oct. 29th all went well. I had a large bone spur removed from the top of my foot, and had him take off a bunion while I was on the table. Will need to stay off my foot for a week. Then gradually put weight on it. I did get good meds. Love being in La La land. Oops I live there, says Harry. Speaking of Harry he is taking great care of me. I so love being spoiled.
How about Greys Anatomy great show last night. I am also watching flash forward not sure about that series.
We had a great time at the Texans football game last Sunday we have one more game to attend.
This team can give a lot of thrills, as long as we win they can give me a few scares.
This Sunday I will have to watch them from my living room.
Well there is a lot going on this weekend Biker rally in Galveston, Wings over Houston the blue angels will be performing. Boo on the boardwalk, trick or treaters, and a Halloween party given by our next door neighbors. What to do? I just have to miss all because I can't walk.
Would like to give a big congratulation to our dear friends Jimmy and Connie they have celebrated 40 years of wedded bliss. A big milestone this day and time. Harry and I will also have 40 years under our belt this Dec.
Well I shall sign off but beware I shall be back.
Be safe XXXXOOOO

Oct 18th

Had a great Sunday, the weather was very nice. We finally got our first cool front, dropping temp about 20 degrees. With the heat index a balmy 101, any relief was a welcome treat. We were able to turn the A C off, open the windows and enjoy the fresh north wind. Harry and I have been struggling with the heat, the pleasant weather in the northwest has truly spoiled us.
We bought us a small BBQ smoker, Harry put some baby back ribs and a chicken on Sunday. Let the meat slowly smoke for 5 to 6 hours. Now that's is Texas style BBQ. Harry has always had good meat, love gnawing on the bone. {Shame Shame on you I know what u thinking}
Lisa Pooh came into town this weekend it was her birthday. Yes my baby girl is 36 now. Don't know were the time has gone. She meet us at a local Mexican restaurant, a nice hang out for a group of friends and happy hour. Friday has always been family night for us so we went to Maureen's loft and I cooked us a seafood dinner. Maureen is a ghost and goblin fan of Halloween she has decorated her loft in the spirit of the season. She can not help her self I was in labor with her on Halloween.
My perfect grandson made a goal for his soccer team of course he was the star of the game. However I must confess I could not make that game just unable to get to Galveston.
He has another game this week and I shall be there. I was able to see Ryan football team skunk Blocker. I was very impress with TC football field the city spent over a million dollars to refurbish it, the TC Stings has a field to be proud to play on.
That old saying what goes around comes around, it is true Harry received is jury summons. He has to report the first week of Nov. I thought I would be able to get exempt because I am going to have foot surgery, well the very nice lady on the phone said we will reschedule so I shall be reporting to court Feb 22. Having 4 months to stew just makes it that much harder for those poor souls.
Well guys I need to get busy so I shall say so long.

Via Bayou RV park

We are in Dickinson at the Via bayou R V park. This park is back behind Hillmans seafood and on Dickinson bayou. I do like the park we have a nice breeze and our site is concrete. Has a laundry room, wide space to enjoy the outside, no highway noise and of course a fishing and crabbing pier. Yes I am a happy camper.
We arrived in Dickinson Sept. 29th in time to see our grandson Ryan play football. He plays for Austin Middle School Indians. They played Santa Fe Indians and his team won. Ryan is playing on both the offense and defense teams. Of course we all know he is the best kid on the team. Just ask me. Cody plays soccer, his games are Wed. evenings. After the games the boys wanted to go out to dinner, so being the best Granny in the world I take them . Little do they know next week Granny will bring peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. We will have a picnic, great family time and better for Papa's budget.
I have been home less than a week when I received a jury summons. Can you believe this, I have been to 13 states the last 7 months and this state hits me with a jury summons. I really would not mind serving on a jury but it is the processing. You are herded like livestock sit and wait till your name might be called, if not then you must call the jury hot line and listen for your name if you are to report to court next the day. This can go on for 5 days. Unable to make plans
you are at the mercy of the system. I could continue to whine but who cares just get over it.
We went to dinner Thursday night I surprised Kerry she is happy I am home. We enjoyed happy hour and got caught up on silly girl stuff.
Sunday was football. We have tickets to the Texans game and what a sweet sweet victory. So worth the trip in the rain and wind. But again I need to rant and rave. What is with people, up and down, climbing over you, blocking your view standing and talking by your seat. My gosh people please tell me WHY are you there. { I am still on my meds} so you can not blame me.
Well I will say good bye for now, I will still be in touch with all. I do have lots more to talk about.
Be Safe
