Lincoln City Oregon

If beach combing is your delight, you will enjoy Lincoln City seven-mile of wonderful sand. When it comes to the salt air and ocean. Everyday aches, pain and sore muscle seem to heal. Be careful you might find your inner child. What ever your inspiration no doubt, you have discovered the beautiful treasures of Oregon Coast.

Pack a lunch, bring a book, your lawn chair for a day at the beach. Bring crab nets and bait, cast into the ocean and woohoo you have dinner. Build a fire, roast your catch ,snuggle with your mate as the blue sky fade to a vivid orange, red, amber hue enjoy the brief twilight as the sunsets and the night is new.

The term shop till you drop it is possible. Many antique stores, galleries, handcrafted wood signs, arts and crafts. Pause and watch hand blown glass craftsmen at their work.

Dress is always casual were comfy shoes for those long strolls in town and the beach, and don't forget a light jacket. The Pacific Ocean is the worlds best air condition.

We made a short drive the Tillamook. Famous for their cheese and dairy products. A self guided tour where you can observe the cheese making room and packaging line. Stop for your samples of several varieties of cheese.

Browse the shop for all of the dairy products. Gifts to send home, a keepsake for yourself.

Our next stop Blue Herron Winery and cheese shop. Today samples a selection of Brie cheese. Who knew!!!! Wow I liked them so much I had to buy a couple of packages. I keep this up I might like sour cream cream cheese and mayo. Oh my!!!! I shudder the thought.

Off to the wine tasting. You could get 4 tasting for two dollars. tired two whites, two reds. The reds, ooh really sucked. Did buy two bottles of Pinon Gris.

Next stop lunch. Again we craved Mexican food. Again we are screwed. Nasty nasty. You would think by now we know better. We are not in Texas anymore.

Tomorrows is Friday, finally Deb and I will get together. She will spend the weekend with us. She has a to do list, just hopes she remembers I am not 16 anymore. I shall share all adventures with you.

Oh my look at the time. I need to be an early riser. Well gang short and sweet. Goodnight.

Be safe juju

Oregon Coast

We took a ride down the coast today, it was a little foggy so some of the pictures are not clear. We went to Yaquina Lighthouse and looked around and took some pictures. We saw seal lions on the rocks and swimming in the ocean, mussels beds on the rocks and lots of birds. Not much text in today's blog but lots of pictures of the lighthouse area and some of our boys before they left for Texas.

One day of thirty

I know this is a little out order but I want to catch up on what we did while we were in Washington the evergreen state. It was hard keeping up with my blog while we had the grandkids with us. Everything you might have imagine. People play outside. You see them walking, jogging , bicycling, hiking, having picnic in the parks. The weather is fabulous. Daylight is a good 17 1/2 hours. Having 2 extra hours of sun during summer months, and the crisp cool nights, the amount of rain it is easy to understand, the lush landscapes the largest trees you ever seen. The state takes pride in keeping their cities and byways clean.
Each day was a new adventure. We traveled to the San Juan Islands. Orca Island being the largest, and was featured on the Rachael Ray show. We enjoyed a great lunch and walked the streets, visited a few of the local shops. Having young boys they can be a bull in a china store. So we drove the coastline enjoying the many sites. We were able to see an oyster farm, which supplies the local restaurants. Stopped at a fruit stand and of course had to get berries. So sweet and juicy OMG so good!!!! Headed back to the ferry for our 45 minute ride to Anacortes. That's just one day, now imagine a month. I will share another day with you soon, however it is late and we have early plans for tomorrow.
Be safe

All about location

Hello everyone!!! Hope all is well. We are just peachy. Been busy with my grandsons haven't had any spare time. They have returned to Texas, Harry flew back with them Friday the 24 th. The boys are not old enough fly alone, and we just would not allow them to do it. So papa stayed overnight in Houston and flew back to Seattle Sat. 25 th.
We have moved further south Portland our first stop. Temp 95 Harry was just a huffing and puffing setting the trailer up. Complains it is hotter than Hell [we have been to Hell, located in the Cayman Islands],I did not think it was so hot. Completing the chores he got on the old web page looking for a cooler place. WA LA he found a place Devils Lake R V park in Lincoln City OR. So we packed up Monday morning and headed to the new park. It is all about LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION. The temp is a nice
70 with nights in the 50's very pleasant for an old man. OOPS don't tell him I said that. he he he.
Now that he is a happy camper we will be here a week. We had dinner last night at the Chinook Casino {remember location} shared a 16 oz Rib eye
very tasty. A spectacular view of a sunset over the Pacific Ocean. After dinner we walked down to the beach front watching waves rolling in, the fresh sea mist, a chilly breeze. Ladies and Gentlemen you must put the Oregon west coast on your bucket list. The water a brilliant turquoise, white caps that sparkles.
We have taken a short drive of the coast highway.
Now to get the full pictures image driving a car with the oceans on one side, smelling the fresh sea air, watching the waves rolling toward the beach, the turquoise water glisten with the suns sparkle. The other side is vibrant green pine trees reaching toward the sky with soothing scent.
I shall soon have pictures to share.
Our friends Donna and Brenda are traveling the mid west. They bought fresh cherries. Their husbands wanted a cherry cobbler so the man pitted cherries. The women made the desert. My point Harry read their blog and I had to make him one.
Let's talk food!!!!! The west coast has great seafood. I know duh!! but remember I am from the gulf coast. Seafood is our main dish. Here you are able to get oysters year round. I love them fried, crispy and juicy hm
hm to die for. Then there's the dungeness crab with sweet white meat. As are the scallops. Oh my the claim chowder.
Fruit fresh from the fields you can pick them. Blueberries, strawberries, and cherries. OMG sweet sweet no need to add any sugar just pop into mouth and be satisfied.
I do have more to share but this be continued. Chatting about food I need to cook dinner.
Be safe and I will have another page turner tomorrow.

Another Pleasant Day in Anacortes

My dear melting Texans. I do pity you guys. The heat, robbing banks to pay electric bill, smelting lawns, mosquitoes the size of the state, yes life is good.
Harry Potter, what a great time. We were seated about 10:00 p m better than standing in a line for 2 hours. Listening to the crowds chattering about Harry's movies and books, pretty cool. The varied age group also amazing. There were several people who came in costumes. Nice having a little entertainment to help pass the 2 hour wait. When the lights dimmed and the surround sounds blared all went quite, patiently waiting for 2 years, you sit back in your chair, your 30.00 cokes & popcorn your addiction is now satisfied. 2 1/2 hours later knowing I just fed the authors bank account I ask myself was it worth it. YOU DARN RIGHT!! If you are a Potter fan go see it.
I need to say Happy Birthday to my niece Tracy today she is 27. Birthday dinner plans are for Joe's Crab Shack Gal. Her family joining her. Lisa is in town for a training session, will celebrate with them.
Harry has taken the boys for hair cuts. I am alone enjoying my country music. When they get back we will have lunch and then head to the beach.
Today's high about 84, good day to sit in the sun with a book.
Anyone like that game show WIPE OUT. We watch it every Wed. night just hilarious what dumb people do for money. I like money just like the next, but I do have scruples. I have done many many dumb things, just can't be an idiot on national T V.
I have a sink full of dishes and I being a muggle {non magic} need to get busy cleaning. Before I say good bye I need your prays, my Uncle is in ICU [heart problems]

All be safe.

Anacortes WA

Howdy to all. I can't believe it's been a week since our last chat. My grand boys keep me busy, and I am so happy to have them with me. We spent the day on Orca's island, had a nice lunch at the Bayview restaurant. Drove to the state park and walked to the cascade falls tough hike. Made the trip to the summit of Mt. Constitution. FYI this island was featured on Rachel Ray. She gave great suggestion on places to eat and things to see. However we watched her show after our road trip. Yep a day late and dollar short. Our friend from Texas joined us for the day. She was in WA. to see her son return from deployment. He had been out to sea for about 7 months. Her hubby Danny was able to do the tiger cruise with his son. Our grandsons were able to go abroad the aircraft carrier and of course they were amazed Ryan [12] wants to join the air force to be a top gun. Cody [7] wants to be like Kevin. {he is the son of Danny and Phylis} They took to us to a BBQ place really great food. I was surprised since I was not in Texas. Afterwards it was time to say our goodbyes to our Texas friends. We had to rush to catch a ferry to get back to Anacortes. Ferries are the means of transportation here. The schedules are not like Bolivar running every 20 min. Very long wait if you miss it. You must pay attention to scheduling, actually it is best to make reservation. The distance varies depending the your destination. Some are equipped with a snack bar and beer bar not to shabby. So I guess you know where Phylis and I hung out.

Today we attended church after the service a coffee fellowship. Many had suggestion on things to do and see. So we shall have another busy week. After church we planed to have lunch and head to the beach. However the weather was cloudy and the temp 61. You poor melting Texans HAHAHA.

Well you guys have a good work week and be safe.

Love to all Juju

Washington

I'm back, did you miss me? Been busy, busy our daughter Maureen and grandsons Ryan and Cody arrived Sat. June 27th. We have been on the go 24/ 7. We spent Monday in Seattle had fun at the public market did see the fish throwing so neat, the amount of seafood is just fantastic. The king crabs, prawns, fish, unbelievable the many varieties of seafood so fun to look at. The space needle is just like the pictures and movie that Elvis starred, at the World Fairs back in the 60's. We went to the top for a 360 degree view, awesome the weather was so perfect you could see Mt Rainier, and of course Canada. Lots of walking and the city is hilly, big hills. People here walk, run, and picnic in parks. They truly take advantage of there perfect weather.

We took a 12 hour round trip drive to Fork WA. and La Push beach Tuesday. The town has been made famous by a movie called Twilight the tourist flocks from all parts of the country to get there picture taken in front of the towns sign. Our daughter and boys patiently waited there turn. I am told by many parents that this is now bigger than Harry Porter. We made our way to the expensive twilight store we the kids made their purchase.
Found a nice place to have lunch and raced back to Port Angeles to catch the last ferry of the day [8:30]. Wednesday the boys and Maureen went to the movies Transformer and did some mall shopping and the boys played video games.

Maureen and I had a mom and daughter day we saw My Sister Keeper. Great movie bring lots of tissue. Maureen has such a soft heart she just bawled the whole movie. She and I did some shopping had a good lunch. We came home to relive Pa Pa he had a his time with the boys. We all drove to Vancouver Canada Friday had lunch did some sightseeing.Another long day. The drive is not bad it's just the waiting to get through customs. We had no problems but 911 has changed so much freedom. We do need to be safe. Saturday being the July 4th we watched the parade went to the beach and watched the fireworks. We were able to see the fireworks from the park we are at. We had a light jacket on the evenings are chilly here. I know watching fireworks with jackets go figure. Pretty cool huh get it. This has been such a great week sad to have Maureen go back to Texas but she does have to work. The boys will be with us till July 24th when Harry will fly them back to Texas.

July the 10th we meet up with some Texas friend they have a son in the Navy and the ship returns to port, and we will get to watch them sail in. OMG if you have not witness returning ships you must put that on your bucket list. We had the pleasure of watching our daughter Lisa's ship return to their home port Norfolk VA. Standing at the docks anxiously waiting for the ship to comes into view. Just a beautiful sight to see. All sailors standing on the deck at attention. Now that's AMERICAN PRIDE.

I do have pictures to share.
One last thing to the Rayford gang looking forward to CO.
Be safe, love to all
