He is Risen

Howdy again,

What's going on!! Same "O" with us.  Busy with ball games, working, just everyday stuff.
I'll start with Malissa, she is doing a great job passing all the required test. A few days back she had an observation flight. She flew from Houston to San Diego back to Houston She was selected to work first class. Friday they had the emergency flight training simulated crash landing. Her training program is very intense and constant.  We don't have much time to talk. Soon we will be attending her graduation earning her wings. Did I say how proud I am.
Her sister will also be graduating UHCL in May. She has majored in English Literature. She has done her student teaching with Ball High School and she has impressed them with her passion for teaching that they have given her an interview for a fall opening.
Harry also continues to improve each day he become stronger. He is resuming every day routine. Mowing the grass, a round of golf, he even felt strong enough to give the trailer a bath. All we need is the OK from the Doc. to hit the road again.
Although we do have plenty to keep us busy. Our grandsons are busy with their sports. Cody plays baseball and has game twice a week. Ryan is playing rugby. His games will be all over the area.
This weekend he is playing in Austin.
We will be moving to Galveston Bay RV park.  We have some close buddies and family that want to play.  Yes after a long winter of hibernating it's time to come out and play.  We have been at this park many times plenty to do. Fishing, crabbing, swimming, and just R&R with your neighbors.
I suppose I should say good bye for now. Going to Hillmans for some oysters. My dad loves them so gonna fry a batch tonight for dinner. You know we always have fun with the family.
Tomorrow sunrise services and morning church service for he has risen.
XOXOXOX

Just a few words

Hey there. Just a few short words to catch up. Lots been going on. Jeez I sure wish I could remember all. Sucks to get old.
My niece had her house warming party last weekend. Big house and she has it decorated so cute. This is actual there second home. Before they were married Jared built them a small apartment. A sweet cozy two bedroom about 12oo square feet. Actual larger than our old home. Anyway now she has a massive home. Woods floors, granite counter tops, marble bath.  Lots of large glass windows, a open floor plan a gourmet kitchen.
After the home tour  we had a craw fish boil.  Yep it's that time of the year again. Pinching some tail and sucking head for the sweet meat of those critters.
Let's see, Cody had his first baseball game Thursday. Yep it is that time of year watching my handsome grandson play ball. I have noticed he is beginning to grow tall. Wont be long and he will be taller than granny.
Lisa came in for a visit so the family meet at our favorite Mexican place. Always such fun when we can all get together.
Matter fact she is now embarking on a new career. She is in training for a flight attendant with United Airlines. This the perfect job for her. She has such array of sunshine and a smile that lights up a room.
Harry has a doctor's visit in April. He is doing very well we are walking and mowing the grass. We are just hoping that he will be totally released. You know; not having to go back for frequent check ups. So ready to get on the rode again.
Anyway we are on a waiting list for a local RV park. Several friends would like gather for our favorite Friday steak night and breakfast BLT's, Bloody Mary Saturday morning. Sitting out around your rig sharing tall tales. Not mentioning any names but we do have a lot of BS talk going on. Of course we do share our road trips. OK The Amazing Race is on. Gotta go.

GREASE IS THE WORD

Good Morning friends, how you guys doing?
Having a lazy weekend. Yep slept till 9:00 stayed in my pj's till 3:00 p.m. Had a 4:00 hair appointment, then a quickie trip to Kroger's. Then backed to the cozy comfort of our home. I think we set our clocks ahead about 9:00 pm springing forward, crawled into bed and out we went. This morning Harry is cooking our Sunday breakfast. My chair feels so good I plan to keep the indention in place.
Last weekend we played hard. Went to Sealy and watched  old fashioned drag racing. Now that was a blast from the past.
Some much fun watching all those old cars get there grove own. They had 64 mustangs, 67 camaros, ford falcon
56 Chevy trucks and 57 ford trucks, sling shot dragsters, nomads. Smoking  spinning tires. Popping  wheelies at take off. Rived up engines so loud you ear drums ached.  You name it they raced it. We walked pit row amazed at all IRA and retirement funds that people put into their cars. In fact one dude blew his engine while racing it is only money and you can't take it with you enjoy your dreams.
Also the music from the nifty 50's and peace loving 60's.
Every be bop, twisting, stroll, and belly rubbing slow dance song they made back in the day were playing.  Yep like a Saturday night at the old High School gym Sock Hop and after the dance a make out session in the old hot rods. A good weekend. We brought Cody with us and he was really impressed. He wants to soup of PaPa's truck.
We were not aware that they racing so close. My brother n law ask us to meet up with them. He has a old high school buddy that raced.  You might know him Pee Wee Bowen. He is an old La Marque Tiger graduate. Has a band and played music for some 50 years. We try and go see him when he plays at T Bones Tom, on 146. Always a sweet treat when his daughter sings with him. In fact T Bones has a lot of nice bands on Friday night. Many friends and even my cousin from Houma, we would gather on Friday night for group hugs. Now with spring weather and daylight saving time we hope will see you there.
Rodeo Houston is now in full cowboy mode. Now 85 years of go western days. The number of trail rides have dwindled over the years, but the 7 trail rider teams that made the week long
100 mile trip made their way to the traditional downtown parade. Covered wagons, area high school marching bands, cowboys with their 10 gallon hats, spurs and chaps. Now that's TEXAS. Another popular event of the festivities is the BBQ cook off. About 365 teams compete for the bragging right of the best meat. I not going there. Yep it has become the biggest wildest two night drunken bash to kick off the rodeo. This must be a prerequisite for entry. The Galveston County Fair and Rodeo in Santa Fe will soon have their bash Teams set up as early as the weekend before the event. The energy drink, cold long neck by the cases and liquor by the gallons that's the first to be unloaded. Well come the weekend it's a riot waiting to happen. You drink till you pass out in your throw up, shout all the profanity you can scream, stop to take a pee not caring who see you. I am at a lost for words how the young girls dress. Now mind you most of the unruly is the crowds is those that pay to come into the fair.
The chief cook of the teams is responsible for his area and the behavior of all that are in his spot. My complaint the rodeo committee seems to turn their heads and do not have enough security for the number of people in such a small area. The parking is a huge problem. Never enough, if you are lucky to find a spot good chance you will be blocked in. So you have to find the police, who has to find the tow company, who has to weasel their way through a maze of cars parked any which way. Well this is why Harry and I choose to go out on Thursday night and Saturday for the awards ceremony. Leave before the crazy people arrive. During the week night they do have a lot fun activities with the FFA. They young kids that have put their all into the raising and caring of animals. Some involved in calf scramble, barrel racing, chuck wagon racing.
Do go out early in the week and watch the kids and while in the neighborhood come by our place and I'll fix you plate of BBQ on Thursday evening and Saturday.
Well it's time for me to get dressed and moving.
XOXOXO to all

Go ahead and get your coffee, get relaxed and I shall tell you  about the week I had.  In a word Fabulous.
I now can make a scratch off on my bucket list.  One of my all time want to do's. I got to do.
You all know how much I love the Mardi Gras. It's in my DNA. I can remember my first parade in the Big Easy when I was only knee high to my momma skirt hem. Yes my dad and mom would pack us kiddos up and we go visit the kin folks in Nawlins. The beads we youngins caught, the king cake ,and all the gumbo, poboys we ate. Then all the tall tales around the kitchen table. The house full of playful  nonstop chatter of 8 cousin 4 adults.
Yep you can see why I love carnival season. To get to the point I was able to ride in  the Fat Tuesday Parade.  OMG it is true I rode in the parade threw beads, danced and had a few drinks. Game on.  I was throwing cheap beads, waving to the crowd and  got a few phone numbers. Watching all those crazy people yelling throw me something Mister.  The little ones reaching for the throw, when caught the big smile that engulf their little face. Priceless!!!  If we are home next season I shall be in the little pink train chugging down the strand I think I can throw and I think I can dance.
Just a little FYI the Tuesday night parade is the absolute best parade to watch.

Well I must brag.  A typical Thursday evening Harry picks me up from work normal routine. However when I stepped a foot inside our home this wonderful aromatic herbs hit my nose. Then my eyes spotted the dining table lavishly dressed with our hand spun lace table cloth and linen napkins adorned with our fine wine crystal goblet and wedding china. My man had prepared a succulent Italian dinner. With all the traditional food of Italy. We began our meal with a bottle of fine Couer D Alene wine, antipasti, spaghetti and meatballs the dish that put Italy on the map. Harry chopped, diced, sauteed and simmered all day a gourmet dinner fit for this Queen. Yes my taste buds savor each delicious morsel. All to soon the meal was devolved. Tummies expanding you must loosen your belts, pants unbutton to relive the bulging flab then the long satisfy sigh to a end of a perfect date night.
Few hours later as we began the night slumber with complete satisfaction I bluntly sit up in bed and scream.  MAMA MIA that's a one spicy meatball!!!
Saturday Cody wanted to come spend some time with us.We went to the movies to see Journey 2 Mysterious Island. It is in 3D. Not a bad flick and not bad in 3D. Afterward went back home granny made a pot of chicken and dumplings, banana pudding for dessert all of Cody's favorite. We settled in for a evening of TV and family snuggles.  I know we have spoiled him but I know time is precious they grow so fast and in a few he will have other interest. I have already lost my 15 year old to a red hair, brown eyed beauty.

Let me introduce myself to you. It has been way to long since my last post.  My only excuse is being lazy. How hard it is to type a few words on a page.
I am not going to try and catch up but just chat about all we have done.

Harry continues to improve the Doctor is amazed with his progress. He still has not been totally released. He goes back to the Dr. about ever 2 months for check ups, blood test etc. He has been taken off some of his medicine. One was the warfin. The rat poison to keep the blood thin. He keeps busy with golf, Lodge meetings, Liar's Club. Yep a group of old men who have notta to do. Just stir the pot with fresh $#*.
He did surprise me on valentine day. He sent me a box of chocolate covered strawberries.  We made a agreement years ago that just because it's a Hallmark holiday it is not necessary to exchange gifts. Why let others profit from our hard earn money. I know he loves me. He has spoiled me some 42 years now. Only thing I need is having his strong arms wrapped around me at night as we slumber. Life is more precious than stuff.
We will stay put until he his totally released. Not to worry we just got back from Las Vegas. We stayed at the MGM for 5 days. Harry played Texas hold'em. We went to two shows. Mark and Tina wedding. It is a must see. The players inter act with the audience.  Harry was pulled on stage to dance by the bride best friend she was the wedding slut. I was able to have a picture with Elvis. Gee Elvis has not changed still a hunk hunk of burning love.
Then we went to see a old fashion Vegas show.  A show with the old rat pack Dean, Sammy, Frank. All the gilts and glamour of Vegas during the mob controlled era. While your being  entertained you realize that most of the people was not even born during the rock n roll era. Yet they can out dance and out sing the original artist.

I will share this with you. My cousin of 44 years died mid  Dec. 2011.heading down a flight of steps something he has done everyday since he lived in the house. He lost his footing and fell down the flight of stairs and broke his neck. A freak accident that was fatal. He left a wife of many years and a grown daughter. He was an only child and his mother my Aunt.  Aunt Carol was just a few years older than me and we grew up like sisters. She taught me to dance and style my hair we shared so many secrets. We would listen to the radio for hours singing like we were the singer. The louder the song the louder we sung. Then granny (aunt carol mom) would  storm into the room telling us we had no tune please shut -up. Oh my did we ever laugh till we cried. Aunt Carols loss was so tragic her heart is so broken I just don't know?  So I ask that you keep the Jackson family in your prayers.
I also had to say good bye to Aunt Marjorie. She was my mom sister. Aunt Marjorie  was a fabulous lady. She too spoiled me.  What a cook this lady was. She would make gallons and gallons of homemade BBQ sauce. They would never be enough to share. This sauce would take 2 days cook. So if you happen to be on her  "s" list oh well you were just SOL. She also was a fashion guru. She worked for Eibands many years. Eibands was a very upscale department store on Galveston island. She and mom made sure all of us girls were dressed as the princess we thought we were.
I'm  truly not sure how my parents maintained me and my siblings high fashion addiction. My hubby can also vouch for my expensive taste.
Last weekend we made a trip to the country. We stayed with our dear friends Chester and Carla. They have built them a sweet cozy retirement home. There were 6 couples and we all have raised our children together Harry and some of the guys worked together at the plant.  Saturday evening  the menu was Carla's gumbo. The guys job was to fry the fresh caught catfish and oysters. Well the guys sampled so much of the fish they had to go and catch two more fish to cook for us ladies.
OMG we laughed so hard we cried and some of us having a weak bladder, you know what happened.
Maureen gave Ryan a 1 hour flight training session as one of his Christmas presents.  So cool to watch my grandson fly a plane. Yep he was truly in control of the plane. Be assured there was a licensed pilot with him. The experience has really inspired him to continue his education to reach his goal.

Love Juju XOXOXO

Independence Day July 4th

Freedom;= independence, liberty, ease of movement, a right.
AS we celebrate July 4th with family picnics, parades, and fireworks.
Having a three day week end is always a bonus. Let's enjoy our freedom the many men and women who died to save you and me.
Harry and I have been so blessed to have the right of ease of movement to travel this great America. America for spacious sky and amber waves of grains. Purple mountains majesty above the fruited plains, and from sea to shinning sea.
Along our way we have paid our respect to George Washington the Father of country who led the many Americans in the Revolutionary war. He lays resting in Mount Vernon, Virgina. His home built on a hill while the Potomac river proudly babbles down stream. Sit on the many white wooden rocking chairs place over his back lawn. Close your eyes and let your mind wander back to the carefree days of America's innocence. The gathering of family in their Sunday best. No short shorts, no pants hanging to the knees, in fact nothing is bared. You have pride in your appearance and morals. The only thing fresh was game smoking in the smoke house.
While in Sumter, South Carolina,we have visited the many sites of the battles of the civil war. The many many battles were American rights were engaged to keep our freedom. This battle was between the states the north and south. Not just about slavery but about the states right. Chickamauga Ga. take a slow walk through the
civil history. Read and learn. Our ancestors fought many battles for our constitutional rights.
Pearl Harbor Dec 7th a Sunday a perfect day in paradise. Men, women, children, service men, naval nurses, going about their daily routine.Who knew this was the day that Japan plan to try to demise our sailors and naval fleet. We know the story. Japan choose to bomb Pearl Harbor. So many innocents died that day in paradise.
Our visit to Arlington National Cemetery standing at the foot of the Unknown Solider. The many rows of white crosses with a name of people who fought for my freedom. The many names of brave men and women on the wall of the Viet Nam war. Lest not forget the Korean conflict, War World I.
I do hope to visit ground zero. In fact this 4th my brother is paying his respect to those who never knew their fate that sunny glorious day given from the heavens above.
Remember to fly your American Flag daily. Showing your true colors of red white and blue, will give your spirit inner peace that all men are born equal and that all men are born FREE.
I am truly blessed having a wealth of knowledge, riches of family, grandchildren, friends, living in my golden years with sliver hair.
Happy fourth again have a fun day.
Be safe

April 24

Oh my I can not believe I have not made a post since Feb. Let me try and catch you up.  First Harry and I have decided to stay put this summer.  A few reasons, we missed our grandson ball games and all star games. My parents are healthy but are getting up in years. With that said I feel the need to stay home for awhile.
Cody has games on MON and WED. evenings. He plays catcher and is awesome. He also beginning practice for all stars. Ryan is not playing sports this summer. However he and friends on Saturdays play paint ball. Just a few weeks back Galveston hosted a professional paint ball tournament. According to Ryan several well known players took to the field. I was totally out of the loop didn't know any of them. This is a expensive game but he has lots of fun.
We meet up with a some friends a few weeks back. They are camping buddies we made a day at Kemah Boardwalk We are trying to plan a trip for Sept 2012 to Priest Gulch Co.  About 8 of us made the trip a few years back and the fun we had. Lots of fishing, long drives on very narrow roads that wind up and around the mountains. Higher you get the colder and of course the air gets thinner.
Well let me get back to the present. Besides baseball we have a busy summer.  Gonna make a trip to Houma my cousin granddaughter 1st birthday. Ms Sophie such cutie big dark brown eyes. A smile as large as Texas. Of course her honey keeps her dressed so sweet. In fact I don't think she has worn an out fit twice.  Then we will visit with Carla and Chester they have built a dream retirement home in Livingston. Just a few miles up hwy. 146 but still closed enough  to their grandchildren . We also get together for our bunko games. Yep us 12 we all go way back, kids in softball, band, football, and much more.  The sassy sisters will be having a girls night out in Houston. Janie has a birthday in May so what better way to celebrate. I can you a sure wine, martinis, PF Chang, shopping, and massage is on the agenda.
Then the Saturdays will be at baseball all stars games. Sitting in the hot Texas sun being fried to a crisp and then melting in the blistering heat. Believe me I'm not, complain I'm bragging my grandson is awesome.
Our Easter was GRRRRREAT.  Lisa and Janie came in which is always a treat in it self.  We all began with watching Drake baseball game Thursday evening..He plays first base and pitches. They did lose the game but he had the largest fan section. Aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, sister, mom and dad just to name a few.  Friday I made breakfast for a lucky few who were at moms. Big batch of gravy and homemade biscuits.  The pan was licked clean and not one crumb on the biscuit pan. I got a new hair color.
Saturday the tradition of dying eggs and our craw fish boil. The kids had such fun looking for the hidden eggs, and we had a bouncy for them, they could fish and feed the horse's. So lots to keep the kid O busy.
Sunday dressed in our new Spring clothes we went to Easter service. For HE HAS RISEN we had an guest preacher.  So after services I promised Harry fried shrimp and that's what he got.  I gave up fried food for lent. So my man was so ready for something greasy. Homemade fried shrimp oven baked fries. YUMMY
My friends it is late and I have a busy Monday so I shall night.
Be safe
